The Center for Resource Management (CRM) was founded in 1982 by
Mary Ann Lachat and Martha Williams. On July 1, 2006, CRM was
acquired by Public Consulting Group (PCG). At that time, Dr.
Lachat noted that CRM's "…three main areas of focus—data
analysis and data use, program evaluation, and adolescent
literacy—are strongly aligned with PCG's priorities for growth.
Moreover, we have been strongly impressed by the values that
guide PCG's work and their compatibility with ours—excellent
service, cutting-edge knowledge, technology integration, and
responsiveness to the needs and unique contexts of every client.
We will continue to grow to respond to the new opportunities PCG
is creating. We are very confident that being part of PCG will
benefit our current and future clients in many ways, and we are
eager to explore that potential."
Over the past 25 years, CRM provided research, evaluation,
professional development, data management, and data warehousing
products and services to education agencies at national, state,
and local levels. We were committed to the goal of high
standards for all students, and played a leadership role in
education reform initiatives. The company had a long-standing
reputation for excellence, responsiveness, and the delivery of
high-quality products and services.
CRM provided direct services to more than 250 schools and
districts across the country and has conducted projects for
several agencies of the U.S. Department of Education, including
the Office of Educational Research and Innovation (now the
Institute of Education Sciences), the Office of Reform
Assistance and Dissemination, the Office of Special Education
Programs, and the National Institute on Disability and
Rehabilitation Research. Other clients have included the
National Science Foundation, the National Urban League, the
National Urban Literacy Network, the Pew Charitable Trusts, the
Regional Resource Centers Network, the National Parent Network
on Disabilities, Carnegie Corporation of New York, and the
United Way of America. CRM clientele also includes numerous
state education agencies, research centers, school management
companies, and community-based organizations.
CRM’s rich history includes an organizational commitment to
partnering with agencies on initiatives that focus on achieving
educational excellence, equity, and accountability. CRM was a
major partner organization of the Northeast and Islands Regional
Educational Laboratory at Brown University (LAB). Other
collaborating partners have included the Education Alliance at
Brown University, the Learning Exchange (Kansas City), the
Center for Education and Work (University of Wisconsin), the
College for Lifelong Learning (NH), Jobs for the Future
(Boston), the National Urban League, the HELP Coalition
(Providence, RI), the Rhode Island Children's Crusade, Abt
Associates, the Business Roundtable for Education, and the New
Hampshire Charitable Foundation.
The PCG-CRM collaboration has come to evolve into a fast paced,
energetic environment with dedicated professionals who are
passionate and committed to the core values of the organization.
Today, PCG-CRM helps schools achieve equity for all students,
accountability for results, and continuous improvement through
the application of research-based knowledge, sustained
professional development, cutting-edge technology, and
collaborative partnerships. Our service offerings focus on such
areas as adolescent literacy, standards-based curriculum and
instruction, and data-driven decision making. PCG-CRM's SOCRATES
data system offers educators a user-friendly, cost-effective,
and versatile data warehousing system for integrating,
disaggregating, accessing, and using data. PCG-CRM's SPIRAL
Program helps middle schools and high schools improve the
reading and learning skills of adolescent students.
PCG-CRM staff work as partners with client organizations. We
draw on a wide range of tools and approaches, including
CRM-developed resources, models, and software to build the
capacity of client organizations. PCG-CRM is dedicated to
promoting organizational excellence and continuous improvement.
We base our work on research-based knowledge from relevant
fields as well as information about the factors and conditions
affecting organizations. Our approach emphasizes collaboration
and capacity-building. |
