State Reform Projects
CRM has a substantively rich history with state reform initiatives in New Hampshire and New York. For example, in collaboration with the New York State Department of Education and the New York City Board of Education, CRM has provided institutes and leadership seminars for New York City SURR school teams that focused on improving student literacy and aligning instructional practices with the New York State Learning Standards. CRM also collaborated with the New York City Teachers Center and the New York State Department of Education to conduct a study on the extent of alignment between selected CSRD models and the New York State Learning Standards. This project resulted in a document to support district and school analysis of the CSRD models: Comprehensive School Reform Demonstration Program--CSRD Program Models and the New York State Learning Standards--District and School Team Manual.

CRM is the current contractor responsible for training and technical assistance on data-driven improvement for the statewide New Hampshire Best Schools Initiative. For 15 years, CRM was the contractor for the New Hampshire Special Education Program Improvement Partnership, and developed a comprehensive assessment and program improvement model for special education based on the effective schools research.

Teacher Certification and Professional Development
CRM is a partner with New Hampshire's College for Lifelong Learning in expanding teacher preparation course curricula to incorporate research-based research practices shown to be effective in supporting student learning and achievement; and, to prepare personnel to work effectively with students with high-incidence disabilities from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

CRM offers Professional Development Institutes for middle and high school teachers on improving content area literacy. The Institutes model practical strategies for improving reading in the content areas, and participants learn how to plan instruction that integrates literacy and content-area learning. Participants receive a notebook of resource materials for classroom use.
