SENIOR EVALUATION ASSOCIATE

PCG-CRM Evaluation and Data Use Services:
PCG-CRM’s Evaluation and Data Use Services are designed to support program effectiveness, systemic data use at all levels, and uses of data for instructional improvement. Evaluation Services primarily focus on student outcomes, utilize in-house data warehousing technology for extensive data disaggregation, incorporate growth model methodologies; provide both trend and gains analyses in examining student performance and program effectiveness, and emphasize user-friendly data displays that support purposeful data use and targeted improvement. Data Use Services focus on building capacity within schools and districts to make meaningful use of data. Services include data use audits, facilitating the implementation of data use models, and developing data and assessment literacy through professional development institutes and on-site coaching and mentoring.

Position Description:
The Senior Associate will:
  • Assist in designing and delivering Evaluation and Data Use services to clients that include school districts, state agencies, foundations, and other education organizations.
  • Serve as project leader on assigned evaluation and data use contracts, coordinate and schedule services, conduct data collection activities, define data displays, analyze data, and prepare summary reports for clients.
  • Serve as project leader on Data Use Audits.
  • Assist in facilitating use of multiple types of data by district and school teams.
  • Serve as project leader in the development and analysis of student, teacher, and parent survey data.
  • Assist in the development of proposals for services and responses to RFPs, and in making presentations to potential clients.
  • Assist in the refinement of PCG-CRM’s evaluation and data analysis services report templates and presentation formats in ways that support effective data use.
  • Work as part of a team with evaluation and data use staff and consultants.
Qualifications:
Doctorate in Education preferred, Masters in Education required. Experience in facilitating data use by district and school teams. Knowledge of multiple types of assessments. Coursework in evaluation and statistical analysis required. Experience in designing and conducting evaluations. Familiarity with current evaluation concepts and methodologies, particularly quantitative analyses and growth models. Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills. Excellent writing skills and expertise in analyzing data and summarizing results for easy understanding by educational decision-makers.

SENIOR LITERACY ASSOCIATE

PCG-CRM Literacy Services:
CRM is a recognized leader in the area of adolescent literacy. CRM's School-wide Program for Improving Reading and Learning (SPIRAL) is a research-based approach that provides middle schools and high schools with a well-integrated, systemic set of school and classroom strategies for accelerating students' literacy development. SPIRAL I Adolescent Literacy Audit and Action-Planning Process maps literacy support and literacy instruction across the school program. SPIRAL II Leadership Support and Teacher Professional Development provides intensive teacher training on content-area literacy strategies to achieve effective teacher use of best practices.

Primary Function:

The Senior Literacy Associate will be part of a team that is responsible for marketing, service delivery, and ongoing refinement of the SPIRAL program.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Making presentations to groups of district leaders and others to generate interest in SPIRAL;
  • Preparing proposals in response to district needs and conditions;
  • Conducting orientation and planning sessions to launch the process;
  • Coordinating and overseeing data collection;
  • Analyzing data on school capacity, literacy-related instructional practices, and student achievement;
  • Preparing reports that present data and recommendations in a manner that stimulates positive action; and
  • Delivering professional development services to teachers in middle and high schools.
Education and Experience Required:
The successful applicant will have extensive background in high school reading and education reform as well as teaching or administrative experience at the high school level. We are looking for a strong analytical thinker with excellent writing and presentation skills who is highly committed to improving education through a focus on literacy. Must be ability to analyze data on school-wide literacy capacity and work collaboratively with district and school teams to develop implementation plans for literacy improvement. Doctorate preferred.
