PCG-CRM's Leadership for Literacy
Services is a customized workshop series with principals
and/or literacy teams throughout the district focused on
implementing the components of the Leadership Model for
Improving Adolescent Literacy (Irvin and Meltzer, ASCD,
2008).
- Leaders will learn how to recognize what effective
content literacy instruction looks like and how to support
quality literacy instruction across content areas
- Leaders will participate in a customized workshop series
based on school/district goals
- Literacy Walkthrough Training for school and teacher
leaders. This mini-series includes training and onsite
coaching

Leadership for Literacy Services
This is a customized workshop series for administrators and
literacy teams from school and district middle and high
schools focused on implementing the components of the
Leadership Model for Improving Adolescent Literacy.
Highly interactive sessions use templates, rubrics, and models
that address the following topics. Districts select the most
important topics for them to address based on identified school
and district goals and PCG-CRM creates a customized workshop
series just for you!
School and district leaders learn how to:
- Recognize what effective content literacy instruction
looks like and how to support quality literacy instruction
across content areas
- Conduct effective Literacy Walkthroughs and report the
data in ways that generate discussion and improved teaching
and learning
- Set up an effective Literacy Team
- Use the 4 E's Framework to get reluctant teachers on
board
- Design effective data-driven literacy interventions
- Analyze and understand their student performance data
related to reading and writing
- Build a literacy rich culture
- Foster the development of professional learning
communities focused on literacy improvement
- Work with parents and the community on literacy
improvement
- Establish and sustain grade level/department/team
instructional agreements to support literacy improvement
Workshop series based on school and district goals.
CRM works with data teams, team leaders, department leaders,
intervention teachers, and content literacy mentors to establish
systemic supports that anchor the literacy initiative to
district/school curriculum, instructional priorities, and
assessment.
Literacy Walkthrough Training for school and teacher leaders.
This professional development includes course work and onsite
coaching.
